Kjeft a! Poster Exhibition

The leading Norwegian culture and design blog Kjeft a! invited 10 visual artists to do posters for their 3 year anniversary party (which eventually also turned out to be their farewell party). The posters were exhibited at Blå on the night of the party. The colours allowed to be used were the primary colours and black. The theme, or title, for each poster had to be picked from a selection of strange internet searches leading to the Kjeft a! blog. Bjørn chose “Subcultures in Bulgaria”, and set forth to do some trashy Balkan-pop art inspired by chalga (or Pop Folk). Typical chalga lyrics goes like this: “Oh, Tiger, Tiger. If you have money, if you have money, beautiful women. Oh, Tiger, Tiger. If you don’t have money, if you don’t have money… old ladies.” Below are some of the sketches. Marias illustration for last years VARSKO! Wishes Christmas calendar event in Trondheim. Every day new illustrations were projected on the Vår Frue Church facing the town square. The illustration appeared on 16. December. Click here to see a photo of the projection.

Keep the Faith: Illustrators for Haiti

To celebrate its reopening Humac invited four illustrators for a friendly showdown at the Nobel Peace Center on Friday 29. January. The illustrators who participated in this collaborative event, were Jon Burgerman, Robin Snasen Rengård, Jimmy Andersson, and Bjørn from Commando Group. In four hours the four illustrators swapped four illustrations four times to produce four unique art prints which is to be auctioned for Haiti relief. The chosen themes for the illustrations were: Faith, Hope, Love, and Help. The signed prints are up for bids now on the Humac site.

Above is the first stage of the illustration by Bjørn themed ”Faith” before it was passed on further. Below are some of the different stages of the other illustrations and photographs from the event.
