Illustrations used in a campaign for NSB (Norwegian State Railways). McCann wanted a style derived from an illustration I did for the Flexus travelcard, initially commissioned by Scandinavian Design Group. It is very fulfilling when clients seize the opportunity to apply a consistent visual direction in their marketing (sounds rather obvious, but it is not as common as you might think).

Compost Sketches

Some sketches for the “Ugress” gardening column in D2 magazine. The article was basically about composting, and the odour challenges thereof. The composition was really simple, meaning everything had to rely on a clear and strong pose. Bottom: The final illustration, which also can be seen in full colour here.

Keep the Faith: Illustrators for Haiti

To celebrate its reopening Humac invited four illustrators for a friendly showdown at the Nobel Peace Center on Friday 29. January. The illustrators who participated in this collaborative event, were Jon Burgerman, Robin Snasen Rengård, Jimmy Andersson, and Bjørn from Commando Group. In four hours the four illustrators swapped four illustrations four times to produce four unique art prints which is to be auctioned for Haiti relief. The chosen themes for the illustrations were: Faith, Hope, Love, and Help. The signed prints are up for bids now on the Humac site.

Above is the first stage of the illustration by Bjørn themed ”Faith” before it was passed on further. Below are some of the different stages of the other illustrations and photographs from the event.
