Bjørn’s interpretation of the fragrance pyramid. Appearing in todays D2 magazine.

We have redrawn the IFS (Norwegian Institute for Defense Studies) owl crest. Admittedly, there’s always an urge to do an ”extreme makover” when it comes to redesign. Here’s an example of how a humble and descreet makeover can be just as rewarding. In respect to the legacy of logotype, we tried to stay as close as possible [...]

We are very proud to announce that Damian Heinisch and Bjørn Brochmann won the Adobe breakthrough photography award for their Photo Remix collaboration!! See all the winners here. We’ve designed these characters for The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training. They are showing different types of physical activities for children, and the teachers can download them from the net. The brief was quite open in regards to how the characters should look, but with some strong demands: They should be neutral to sexes, ethnicities and [...]

We did the illustration for this Leger uten grenser ad in collaboration with Dinamo. It compares the death toll from the tsunami in Southeast Asia in 2004 with the average number of child deaths worldwide per month. The ad text reads as follows: “The tsunami in 2004 claimed over 200,000 lives, and news pictures went around the world. Each month twice as many children dies before the age of five years, from diseases that can be treated by simple means. We are where scarcity is always the greatest. Whether in or outside the media spotlight. Become a regular donor at legerutengrenser.no or call 08898″. The wave is illustrated using the names [...]

Packaged in dumb slogans or sold as objects in souvenir shops the trolls now feel tired and unfashionable. But as everyone who have wandered in the mountains at nightfall knows: They [...]
The Hills Are Alive!

For our forthcoming exhibition, we performed some serious field studies of trolls in the their natural habitat, in an attempt to get a better understanding of their behaviour and ecology. We had a feeling we were on to something, but our findings surpassed our wildest expectations. As these extraordinary snapshots clearly show: Trolls do NOT [...]
PhotoRemix vs Julie Pike

One of the early remixes by Hilde. Both photographs courtesy of Julie Pike.

Illustrations used in a campaign for NSB (Norwegian State Railways). McCann wanted a style derived from an illustration I did for the Flexus travelcard, initially commissioned by Scandinavian Design Group. It is very fulfilling when clients seize the opportunity to apply a consistent visual direction in their marketing (sounds rather obvious, but it is not as common [...]
